Beginning at the edge of a forest, one begins walking a path with the intention of finding a solution to a problem. Each fork allows the person to view possible solutions to the problem. As one choice is made, the walk continues until another fork (choice) is encountered. At the end of the path lies the best possible solution. The quest to stop smoking is the illustrated problem.
