Why Do People Need a Doctor's Note?

Corporate and Non Corporate America is instilling demands on the people who work for them like never before! One such example is the demands of written doctors notes when an employee has an absence from work because he or she was sick or because of their child’s illness. There was a time when missing work occasionally was understood. Life has a way of happening during work hours sometimes and employers recognized this – and in all fairness, some still do. But when the economy started becoming a bit more like an episode in a Calamity Jane novel, employers no longer felt that they could allow absences unless they were excused by a written doctor’s excuse.

Is it any wonder that people are truly worrying about their jobs when you watch the news for even five minutes all people hear is that times are tough, things are bad, homes and jobs are being lost. It probably comes as no real surprise that employers are getting more demanding about people’s work schedules – they feel at risk too. As unemployment lines appear to elongate and people no longer have job security they will do whatever it takes to try and remain secure like bringing a doctor note to work if they were gone. Even if they were not sick. It is commonly known as the “CYA Syndrome” (CYA = Cover you’re A_ _)

When times were different and jobs were plentiful, there were still those who may have taken advantage of the decency of their employers. Thus, to a degree, getting a doctor’s note did make sense. Employers had some sort of control mechanism to make sure they were not taken advantage of. And, if a person had a serious illness, there was no harm in making sure the employer knew – especially if he or she had to go to the hospital for a week or so. A hospital doctors excuse made sense. The person had a true medical situation that required an extended leave. The work front was covered, everybody was taken care of.

But this whole “needing a doctor’s note” to save your job or even for school if you were just out for a day soon became a problem for people as well. And it is something that Corporate and non Corporate America should not have left the requirement in place. It became more of a control mechanism turned scare tactic.

The employee, who may or may not have been sick enough to see a physician is sitting with a serious problem: he needs an authentic doctors excuse. He may feel embarrassed to schedule an appointment at the clinic because he only had a slight fever and cough, but company policy will not allow him to go to work either –coughs spread illness. He’s not really sick enough to actually go to the doctor and he’s not really sick enough to stay away from work, but policy says he can’t work and he must have a note. Or he may lose his job. That scenario and ones similar to it shed a strong light on why the fake doctors sick note started becoming the solution.

It didn’t take much time for the fake doctor’s note to go into high demand. Online stores began to carry them because of the real problem they solved. Although there was a time when it made sense to obtain an authentic doctor’s note, if you had to be a patient for a week, or maybe do some hospital or clinic outpatient program, it certainly wasn’t logical to do this if you just were out for the day.

Yes, there are times when a person still needs a slip from the doctor. And on those occasions he should go and get one. But it needs to make sense time-wise, money-wise, and reality-wise.

The obvious solution became these online stores that provided the printable fake doctor’s note. They’re in a format that looks like the real doctors note. They are so easy to download. Send a blank sample onto your computer, save the form and print it out whenever you need. So easy to copy it from the template and customize it to fit your needs. In essence, for a very small fee, people had the doctor’s release they needed without all the ridiculous demands.

It should come as no small surprise that as employees began seeing so many of these examples online, they saw that with the ease in getting them, and keeping copies of them on their machines, their problem would be much easier to handle the next time they needed a doctor’s excuse.
