What Does The Law of Attraction Have To Do With Religion?

By: Laurie J. Brenner

So we know that the Law works this way: your thought imbued with emotion becomes a feeling that draws to you what you're feeling (or focusing) about. This is the way it works.

For everyone. About everything. No ifs, ands, or buts.

It is law.

It's been called many things down through the ages, the law of cause and effect, you reap what you sow, what you think about you bring about, etc. ad infinitum. So now that we know it is law, what does this mean?

It means that you are responsible for everything that happens to you. This is hard for most people to take. They say: "I didn't create getting fired; I didn't create that traffic accident or I didn't create this dis-ease."

I disagree. Why? Because no-one else but you is at the steering wheel of your life.

We are eternal spiritual beings. This is what we are made of: energy (spirit).

Energy never dies, cannot be taken from, or added to, is moving in and out of form (matter, flesh, blood, stone, earth, water, wind, metal, sky, etc.), is everywhere and nowhere at once. We are made of the same material as the stars in the sky and the earth underneath our feet.

In essence, we are where heaven and earth meet. And then add awareness (or not - some people walk through life unaware, unawake, unconscious, or living in response to their inner animal). If you don't want to take responsibility for what you think and feel and essentially become as a result of that, then I would suggest you go somewhere else. What you are looking for here, you will not find.

How does this fit in with religion? It exists within and without religion. Did you know that one of the meanings of the base word of religion (religi) means "to bind one's self to one's Source." Whatever name you choose to name "your source" determines the religion that you subscribe to: Buddha, Krishna, Allah, Yahweh, Jehovah, Elohim, God, Jesus, Brahma, Vishnu, Quetzalcoatl, Siva, and so many more than I can write in this mere article. For every culture, there is religion - even a non-religion-religion - atheism.

The law of attraction permeates everything on the face of the earth. So this is beyond your "personal binding of yourself to your source," or your religion.

To me, religion is a very personal thing. What about "binding one's self to one's source" has anything to do with anybody else?

I know that each person, each one of you that is reading this comes from somewhere else, a different background, a different life, and a different religion. This is perfectally fine.

But don't we have to all believe the same?, you ask. I say no. That would be a boring thing. It is our differences that make us unique and beautiful. How we approach our life and Father/Mother God of All That Is, is a personal path. You walk that alone.

I believe that whatever name you choose to give God, it is the same God. Just because in English we call the Sun - The Sun - doesn't change its nature because someone else has a different name for it - you see?

Yes, finding people who believe the same way you do is a good thing to be sure, but bottom line, we walk alone.

Prayer in whatever form is a good thing, no matter how you pray. But for prayer to be successful, you must bind yourself with your source to do so. So when you align yourself with your source and your prayer (thought) lines up with your emotion and your feelings, you have the trinity that shoots your prayer (your desire) into the source to be fulfilled. The universe always answers back. Always.

But you have to pay attention.

A simple excerise to see how this works is to smart small. Align yourself with your source, create a desire for "proof" - a small thing. I told my granddaughter to ask for a butterfly (as an example) at a time when it was not spring. (Remember to ask for something that will definitely stand out when you see it). So she did (children are really good at this because they have less junk to wade through).

She went on a walk with the dog and her brother - she had asked the Universe to provide her a yellow butterfly. After walking about half of the way through her walk she came upon a mailbox that had a huge yellow butterfly on it.

You see - the universe responds in all dimensions. You may ask for a yellow butterfly - and you'll get it. While you may be thinking of a live butterfly - the possibilities are endless on how the universe will respond. Be open. Be ongoing. Watch and listen. You just might be surprised.

I told this story to someone else and I told them - ask for a Blue Butterfly (it is a rare thing) - after I told them that - I saw Blue Butterflies everywhere - on labels, in books, on magazines, on movie covers. It was unbelieveable.

That's why when we just try to be positive, or say positive affirmations, they in and of themselves do not work. For the law of attraction to work, all three things must be in alignment: Thought, emotion and feeling.

This is true for everything here on earth. It is the polarity of opposites that creates everything that exists. It is in the void where worlds are created.

I would suggest that if you have not been able to find ways to get rid of your "negative-focused programming" that you find a program to help you do this.

And yes, they all cost money, some more than others. Everything of value costs something. In our current day and age, we use money to represent this exchange. In olden times you traded salt for leather or one kind of food for another. Since humans have existed we have exchanged goods for goods, goods for services, goods for experiences, places, or things. This is the way the world works.

So if you done that and found a program that helps you accomplish that - you're well on your way.

Wonderful things will begin to happen. Just you wait and see.

I know that you are beautiful. The Universe loves you. I love you. Learn to love yourself. Start being good to yourself - no matter where you live. Go outside and embrace the sun. Be thankful for what you do have (and even for what you don't) because contrast is what gives us desire so that we learn what we do want.

If you say you have nothing to be thankful for - I would disagree. You are reading this right? You have eyes to see? Are you alive? Start there. Think about it - Life is the most precious gift we have been given. I have been told that there are many souls waiting in line to come here.

So what are you going to do about the gift you have been given?

And whatever you do with it - please make it fun!
