The Meaning of True Wealth

The old English meaning of the word, wealth, means "be well" or "well being." In thoroughly modern times that has translated into a meaning derivative of hoarding great piles of cash.

Today it seems as if most people are into some get rich scheme or another thinking that money solves all their problems. Money solves money problems and that's it, regardless of what the movies show us.

True wealth consists of being happy, feeling healthy, successful, and fulfilled; maintaining and enjoying loving supportive relationships, finding uplifting and satisfying work as well as having our desires and needs met and enjoying life to the fullest. How many people can actually say that?

Money can accompany true wealth, but it is not the be-all, end-all goal in and of itself. We are on a journey of discovering and becoming more of who we are: divine children of the Universe. In that discovery we learn that the abundance of nature surrounds us and we learn about the laws of the universe. Many have learned of the law of attraction and are trying to use it to draw great piles of cash to themselves. While the movie The Secret talks about some of the basic tenets of the law of attraction, it doesn't really provide a deep understanding of how it works. Money is not wealth.

A lot of people think that if they just have positive thoughts, ask for their desires and wait around for them, they will come true. This couldn't be further from the truth. Even if you do manage to conjur something up, because you haven't changed your self-sabotaging and limiting ways, you'll end up back on that couch empty handed. Focusing on the positive and resisting the negative will ensure the negative in your life. Focus rather on the positive the negative frames and don't resist the negative.

We live life in a physical reality that is comprised of both positive and negative. The very nature of our planet requires the joining of these opposites to create a whole. By focusing on just the positive and ignoring and or resisting the negative, you're setting yourself up for failure.

So ask yourself if you are truly wealthy and don't show me the size of your pocketbook in reply - show me the size of your heart!
