T-shirts have been around since the early 1970's as a light under garment that you would wear under your button up shirt, but in the world of today the t-shirt has risen to one the most popular items of clothing. The t-shirt has many variations and has evolved a great deal from its early conception in the 1970's and has changes style as the decades have passed. Many types of t-shirts exist in the garment world of today, one must follow closely to see the changes and keep up with the trends of the modern day t-shirt. The most popular t-shirts of today fall only into two categories, you have the unfitted baggy t-shirt with thick plastisol print and bright colors , and the fitted euro style shirt that has a soft print and is washed in silicon or enzymes. The fitted tee being the more expensive and higher quality of the two. The available types of printed are as follows, plastisol printing, water based ink printing, discharge printing, heat transfer and Direct to garment printing all have valid uses in the garment industry and fit a variety of projects. The t-shirt of today has become a wearable canvas for many, especially the young using the t-shirt as a way to express themselves. The t-shirt market is calling for more original and unique t-shirt concepts and designs and the t-shirt itself will always be evolving with the times, but there will always be some form of the t-shirt as we know it.
