Resistance is Futile

Every time I hear the Borg from Star Trek Generations utter those words I am reminded of why sometimes we do not get what we ask for from the Universe.

The Universe always says yes - yet oftentimes we're asking and believing but just not receiving. When that happens it tends to make one think that the Law of Attraction works for everyone but you.

Or better yet, why does the Universe hate me? What does the Universe have against me? Why oh why does it not give ME what I ask for?

Honestly, none of these things are true. They may FEEL true - but they are not. The Universe always says yes, even if it is supporting you in your overriding belief that the Universe says no.

Believing the Universe is saying no creates that reality or experience in your life. You will find yourself in situations where what you have desired is not given to you because you believe the Universe says no - even if you are trying to affirm the Universe says yes.

What this causes is resistance. To be in alignment with receiving from the Universe -you must be in alignment with what you desire, know you're worthy of receiving it and open wide and become the "wide" receiver.

You must vibrate at the same frequency of your desire in order for it to appear in your life. When you resist - or push against - you keep that which you desire from you. You cannot catch the ball unless you're in position and your arms are open. If your back is turned - you get hit in the head!

Your job in this law of attraction business is to ask and to receive. The asking is always easy - it's the receiving that's hard. It's hard because we have beliefs or thoughts that resist, push against or stalemate the flow of the Universe in our lives - so the Universe rushes in and provides us with what we resist against.

Where you put your focus is what you draw to you. Desiring wealth is wonderful - but not feeling worthy of that wealth or believing that people with money are evil - sets up a resistance to your receiving that wealth. So in the end your resistance becomes the focus and the Universe provides more of that to you.

The trick is to learn to let go of the resistance. How do you do this? By simply paying attention to how you feel.

As an example - just the other day - I was expecting a credit to my account for a refund of something I'd purchased and returned. They told me it would process in 48 hours. Well after 48 hours it wasn't there.

I needed this transaction to show up to balance things in my account and I noticed I started getting antsy - I started to feel the push inside of me. At that exact moment - I let it go - saying something like - let it go Laurie, the Universe always has perfect timing. I let go of the resistance and let the Universe do it's thing. NOT 5 minutes after I let it go it showed up! NOT 5 MINUTES!

Resistance doesn't always mean you're in exact opposition to what you are asking for. Pushing for something to happen is the same as pushing against it to happen.

Your best place to be is to ask for your desire from the Universe and then simply know that the Universe always says yes and will provide it.

Then your job is to receive - and to do that you have to detach - hang loose as it were, like the wide receiver waiting to catch the ball. You dance around, limber up, and then wham, the ball's right there.

Let go of your attachment to your desire - it will speed up the process. I know this is easier said than done, but if you find yourself "chewing" on it, simply focus on something else - change your mind. Put on a song that makes you feel good. Go outside and lie down on the grass look up and start designing shapes out of the clouds in the sky. (And then watch them take those shapes!)

Take a drive. Get your focus off the subject at hand and simply know that all is well. You'll immediately start to feel better and things can free up.

Or on the other hand stay on topic, chew it to death and then complain that the Universe says no to you. You will be the witness to how fast the universe always says yes!

After all - resistance is futile no matter what team you're on.
