Succumbing to the temptress foods that may be available to you often, you become quite a trencherman, resulting in your becoming over-weight. You should understand that your bloated body and protruding belly will cause ailments like diabetes, heart diseases, etc. To save yourself from these diseases, you must make up your mind to lose weight quickly.

- But if you heed to the advice of your friends and start crash-dieting, you are in for trouble. Your body will not get the required nourishment because of this. Another point is when you starve or crash-diet, your body will go on the defensive and start hoarding fats to maintain itself. Such hoarded fat will start increasing your weight after a while. Hence though in the initial stages, you lose weight quickly, after some time, the above phenomenon will happen, and you will start gaining weight. Hence starving or crash-dieting is not advisable. Further, your metabolism also slows down by this.

- A great advice is to eat smaller healthy foods as often as possible so that your metabolism is phenomenally improved. Your body also gets a good and continuous supply of energy without an increase in weight. This is much better than having three larger meals that are sure to increase your weight. Smaller meals are digested faster, and hence you will feel light throughout the day.

- By increasing your physical activity, you can improve your metabolism. You can have a walk for about 45 minutes in the mornings or in the evenings. You can also have short walks during breaks in your office or even walks back to your home in the evenings. Instead of using elevators or lifts, if you use the steps to climb up or down, you will spend calories and lose weight quickly.

- If possible, you can have an exercise regimen that consists of cardio exercises and intensive strength training exercises so that you develop good muscles. Since muscles maintain themselves by burning more calories than fat mass, you will be able to spend more calories if you develop your muscles.

- You should drink lots of water daily to improve your metabolism. By drinking plenty of water, you hydrate your body internally. Water content in your body adds to your body weight. To reduce the water weight of your body, you should drink more water. If you do not drink sufficient water, your body will think that water is a scarce commodity, and hence it should be hoarded. Stored water increases your body weight. However, by drinking sufficient water, you send signals to your body that water need not be stored. So you can lose weight quickly.

- You should stop eating junk foods, processed foods and oily and spicy foods. They do not supply any nutrition to your body but increase your weight. So you must shift your diet to more nutritious fiber diets like vegetables, including fresh leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. These supply a lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals to your body but do not increase your weight. They give you the fullness of the stomach, and hence you will not over-eat also. Fiber diets, combined with wholesome grains and beans, will help you get rid of constipation. So you can have a light stomach throughout the day, thus helping you to lose weight quickly.
