Each of us like to try different cuisines, and delicious and appetizing food. Most people wish they could recreate their favorite recipe at home. We go out to a restaurant to enjoy delicious dishes but we would also love to have delicious, appealing looking meals on our own table. But it's not achievable every time to have a meal out at restaurants as the majority of the time our budget does not allow it.
So imagine all the possibilities by being able to prepare that meal at home. It is achievable if you follow some special techniques and are willing to learn a few of the secrets and tips of Chefs. Cooking and thinking like a Chef is a an ability required that will assist you to cook wonderful creations, that will be enjoyed by friends and family. Even the most timid home chef can learn about chef's techniques and tricks.
Nevertheless you are able to prepare yummy and mouth-watering meals like a chef every day in your kitchen. Yes it's true; if you genuinely have an interest in cooking, a degree of patience, and some stick ability then you are able to cook restaurant creations in your home by learning some straightforward techniques.
If you want to cook like a chef, you ought to at least know that there are quite a few things that you need to ask yourself initially. First you will need to know the fundamental things in order to cook like a chef.
Stock your pantry with important basic items like olive oil, canned tomatoes, flour, good chocolate, olives, really get the things you know you will eat.
Buy good quality foodstuffs, do not pay money for budget. In restaurants Chef's do not skimp on quality ingredients. The more costly brands generally have greater flavor and are of higher quality so you don't need to use as much so in the long run it may save you money.
It will make your job a lot more difficult if you don't possess the correct tools so make sure you own a good amount of kitchen equipment. Buy one item a week or a fortnight as you build up your equipment.
With equipment comes Chefs knives. If you are determined about cooking obtain a decent collection of Chef's knives and take care of them and they will last forever. In fact I still own a knife that started with me fifteen years back and it is still my favorite.
Being imaginative is a crucial talent when working with food. If you are not, don't be concerned, it will happen, but a piece of advice: to improve that skill, play with the creations, treat it like a piece of art. Your instinctive creative ability will emerge. Have fun with the whole creative thing; there is no hard and fast law on how meals should look. Bear in mind people eat with their eyes; meaning if it looks good quality they most likely have already determined it tastes good.
Get cookbooks which explain concepts, not just offer 246 recipes! Watch the food channels, set up a small TV in the kitchen, it will be like having a personal Chef guiding you along the way.
Be semi precise with ingredient amounts. What I mean by that is, if a recipe requires 1tsp of crushed garlic and you like garlic add extra. Cooking is a lot about balancing flavors and marrying them up. It is all about discovering what works.
The only occasion I would say to be exactly accurate with ingredient measurements is when baking, that is one rule that must be adhered too.
Practice, practice, practice. Make sure you season foods just right. A dash of salt or a pinch of pepper can do miracles to turn plain foods into super flavored delectable foods. Test different kinds of spices as well.
Lastly, cooking can be a little daunting to some people, but it's not that difficult to learn. Learning a basic recipe is easy. With practice, and good technique, you can easily learn to cook like a chef as well.
The quality of your food will be enhanced if you follow all the advice, techniques and tricks and do what the chef's say until you are confident to add your own touch.
Above all have fun, be imaginative, put some Italian tunes on and go for it!
