How to Deal With Situations While You Are Feeling Bad About Work

It seems that there are lots of things to do every day. A person has to keep working all day long and a five-minute-break seems a waste of time. There are too many things are getting to the deadline but you even haven’t done anything yet, and there are many other stuffs waiting in the “to do list”…

Just take a break and think of it. What have you done from the morning you get to the office? Are you keeping working for the work with intense concentration? Or are you just feel bad about the working, and then talk with your workmates or make some phone calls from time to time? Maybe you didn’t have a good sleep last night and you feel tired and cannot concentrate on the work, do you?

Let’s classify the reason that you are feeling bad about something, but not limited to all that listed below.

1.You have some physical problems. For example, you didn’t have a good sleep last night and in low energy, or you are suffering some kind of pain.

In this situation, you can change your life style. Sleep early at night or take the advices about how to improve your quality of sleep. If you are suffering some pains, you can go to a doctor for further examination and professional treatment.

2.You are experiencing an involuntary emotion due to an imprint experience. For example, you were annoyed by people who you met on your way to work, and your boss criticizes your work which you spend all your night to prepare and you feel frustrated.

This situation is pretty easy to handle. You can use many techniques to eliminate the feeling of depression or frustration. You can divert your attention to something that will make you happy and relaxed. For example, you can read some jokes, or read some travel notes and view the photos. Anything you like will do. But don’t last too long, or you will find yourself cannot concentrate on your work again.

3.Your feeling is a simple reflection of your opinion about what you are currently thinking.

In this situation, you may have to change your way you think about things that bothers you. It is not what you think, but how you think of it.

Think of the half-empty or half-full glass of water case. The different words they use will show their different way of thinking of a same thing.

Let’s take another situation for example. When the due day is coming and you haven’t finished your work yet. At the beginning I would be thinking, “The work has not done and I’m running out of time!” Maybe a series of situations will come into my mind. I feel overwhelm and think of giving up. But what will this thought help me in finishing the task? No. Nothing. Then I think I should change my way of thinking it and learn from it. I notice that it is nothing but I myself make the thing hard. It is me that protract the project, and actually I can finish it perfectly 2 days ago. Then I ask myself. Why do I delay the task? Were there anything more important I had to do before? And questions like that. You don’t have to blame yourself. Just learn from it.
