Air hockey games were something my whole family loved for countless years. I remember when my dad originally purchased me and my siblings an air hockey game. We were delighted. We used it for hours and hours. Of course, this was before there were video games.
We loved the air hockey game. My father used to play with us kids and even my mom would get in on a competition or two. I can actually reminisce and say that a lot of my most treasured memories from my adolescence involve the air hockey game and our family tournaments.
This past Christmas I got an air hockey game for my family. I have two sons and 1 daughter. To start with my wife was slightly undecided with us getting an air hockey table, she figured our daughter would dislike it and our boys would take over it. I will confess, I had those identical worries.
After a good deal of talk we decided to get the air hockey game and establish some family rules. We wanted it to be a family pastime and not something only for my 2 boys. They were thrilled with the scheme because they figured my wife and daughter would be effortless to beat. Wow, were they mistaken.
I warned my boys that air hockey was a sport of speed, alertness and reactions, not a game of force and muscle. They did not pay attention and after my wife and daughter beat them soundly for weeks, they finally got the hint and stopped with the power shots and concentration more on swiftness.
My entire family plays the air hockey game and laughs and has a great time. It’s just like when I used to be a kid. The customary amount of mocking is taken care of at the time they are made. While the teasing is just as much a component of the reason we laugh as the sport itself. We keep the opposition friendly and make it a family event.
When we havea family competition, my wife goes all out with the snacks. She makes the kids believe that they are in an actual competition and they need to eat and drink to stay sharp-witted. My boys always eat a fair amount but they eat like adults on air hockey game nights. My daughter even eats a little bit more than average (so as opposed to eating like a bird she eats like a big bird).
If any family is thinking about an air hockey game for their home, I would highly recommend it. The air hockey games produced now are a great deal better in worth and are just as much pleasure as they were when I was a teenager.
