If you are overweight, you must decide to reduce your weight and also take a vow not to ride back to the past by becoming overweight again. This will save you from several health complications.

The most effective method for reducing your weight is to drink plenty of water. Water removes toxins from the body, and so it helps breaking down of the fat cells. Because of that, reducing weight becomes easy. If you drink plenty of water, it carries the nutrients to every part of your body more efficiently.

Water also fills your stomach fast and so your intake of your regular diet comes down. If you drink two or three glasses of water prior to your taking your regular meal, your intake of your regular diet will come down. You are also advised to take sips of water in between your meals so that your stomach is filled up sooner.

You should not crash diet or starve for reducing your weight. By doing so, your metabolism becomes inefficient, and so you will not be able to burn calories as effectively as you used to. If you crash diet or starve, your body will get used to that and your body will not be able to burn calories. By crash dieting and starving, your body will think that food will not be available in future in its maintenance, and so it will start storing calories in the form of fat, which will increase your weight.

If you skip breakfast also, almost the same phenomenon takes place. Your breakfast is supposed to supply the maximum of your day's energy and calories. If it is not supplied, there will be nutritional imbalance. Your output during the day will be less than the optimum, if you skip breakfast.

You should split your three large meals into six or seven smaller meals and eat them at more frequent intervals. Your metabolism will get a great boost, and you will burn all the calories contained in your smaller meals. But if you continue to eat three larges meals, the calories contained in these three large meals will not be burned completely and so these calories will accumulate as weight. By eating such frequent smaller meals, you do not reduce your intake of total calories but since you split them and eat, you burn the entire calories and so losing weight becomes easy.

You should also eat healthy foods that contain proteins, good carbohydrates, good fats and fiber foods. Proteins help you to rebuild the muscles and carbohydrates supply the energy required by the body. Fats are required for the efficient functioning of your brain and body. Fiber foods supply to your body a good amount of vitamins and minerals.

In addition to the above changes in the diet, you should also do your regular exercises. Your exercise regimen should consist of both cardio exercises and weight training exercises. Cardio exercises help you to burn calories and weight training exercises help you to build good muscles. Good muscles need more calories for their maintenance, and they have a unique characteristic of burning calories throughout the day, whatever be your activity. So this will help you in reducing your weight.
