If you want to become a police officer then there are several exams that you'll need to pass in order to make it a reality. One of the most important exam that you need to pass is the police officer entrance exam. You see, before you can even take the polygraph test, or go through the physiological evaluation process, you must get a satisfactory score on the police written exam.
The goal of the police officer exam was initial designed to filter out unqualified applicants. But how do you really define an unqualified applicant is really the question. I don't believe giving a regular citizen a test riddled with police jargon is a good assessment of if they are a good candidate or not.
Although there are sections on the exam that test your ability to read and write, which I totally agree with. However there are quite a few questions that many applicants with no prior law enforcement experience will have a hard time answering correctly. I think that is a big disadvantage to some applicants especially those that aren't familiar with use of force procedures, or fleeing felon policies.
I've been a policemen for several years now, and I still get sick to my stomach when an applicant who would have otherwise been a good police officer get eliminated because of the police exam. As I mentioned earlier, I don't think it is a fair assessment at all.
With that being said, I want to prepare as many applicants as I possibly can. So I've included a few practice test questions in this article. When reading the questions below, please carefully review the question before selecting your answer.
