With the advent of digital photography and the latest in digital cameras that come out with new innovations almost every year, it's no surprise that the average photo enthusiast can do some amazing things to their photographs and even add funny effects and touch ups.
With the new software technology that has come out in recent years, there is virtually nothing that you can't do to a digital photo and you can even make some changes to older shots if they can be scanned and put into a computer. The latest technology even allows you to change the size and dimensions of some of the photographs and in this way you can create some funny effects that were only possible before with a trip to a professional darkroom.
Image editing programs can provide a variety of JPEG compression options that usually include low, medium , high and a maximum quality setting. It's also possible to crop an image in your computer to create any kind of effect that you might be after including a funny one. Inverting an images color is another option that leaves the photo with a new twist and interesting effect. And once you've got the images to the point that you want them at, you'll more than likely want to share them with at least family and friends if only the people who were the subjects of the original photographs.
For that you'll need to understand the email capabilities that most of the new technology affords you. The first step here is to choose the file types or attachments you wish to include in the choose file type box, and then select the size and quality of the photo that you want to send. After that you can click on the OK button to send the email. If the person at the other end has the proper capabilities, they will be able to download the picture and print it off in full color with the kind of quality they would have gotten from a darkroom.
In some instances you might want to set up lighting for the subject that you are shooting if you don't think the flash will be enough. Remember to distribute the light evenly so that the final picture will be one of the highest quality. Evenly distributed lighting reduces the shadows that can obscure details of the subject and perhaps even thwart the special or funny effects that you were aiming for.
Not all photographers are looking for the comedic when they say they want to do something funny. Often they mean a effect of some kind that's a little out of the ordinary.
