Mizuki Kawashita (born on August 30, 1971 in Shizuoka, Japan) began her writing career as a women's mangaka under the penname of Mikan Momokuri. Her 1st amateur work, Innocent, was released in 1993 but she became most famous for youth comedy manga released mainly by Mizuki Kawashita proper. Her bestseller was the manga Strawberry 100%. She has published about 20 works including multi-volume series and 1-chapter mini-stories.

The manga Sora no Seibun (1996) targets mature women, featuring Okamoto and Koizumi. Basketball player Okamoto enters high school just for his girlfriend Yumi's sake. They've had close relations since elementary school when Okamoto dropped a boiling kettle on her back, causing a terrible scar. So Yumi reminds Okamoto about this accident which however brought them together. Suddenly Koizumi joins the basketball team. Short and skinny Koizumi is very cute and feminine. Looking womanly in casual clothes, Koizumi shockingly seems he wants to have a female body as well.

One of Mizuki Kawashita's first male comedies was a 2-volume manga, Akane-chan Overdrive (1999). Its protagonist, Amamiya, died by bottle tripping and reincarnates in a comatose girl. His new identity slowly changes his mind from a guy to a girl. This manga describes several such body switchings!

That year Kawashita also created the female manga Kaede Typhoon. There Kaede, a heiress of the Kisaragi ninja clan, escapes her arranged marriage in search for her own happiness. She meets a most unlikely companion as a total wimp. However his bravery soon intrigues Kaede.

Both mangas were published under Mikan Momokuri with her mangas printed under Mizuki Kawashita since the next year. 2000 released her manga Lilim Kiss as a fantasy/comedy mix. The hero, Saiki Takaya, an unintelligible guy, finds a flask with succubus Lilim inside. This devil girl likes sucking life force out of men. Kissing unconscious Takaya, she drains his life out and flies away for more feed but soon returns for his "tastiest" energy. Since then Lilim has been living with Takaya's family as his girlfriend, and his appears to adore this temptress more and more....

2002 launched Mizuki Kawashita's bestselling and so far biggest work, Ichigo 100%, in 19 volumes. It based a 26-episode anime TV series (2005, Japan) and 5 OVAs. The latter have covered only the manga's first 8 volumes since the manga wasn't complete then yet. Its protagonist, Manaka Junpei, climbs his school roof for a picturesque town view. There he encounters a pretty high school girl falling on him in her strawberry panties and escaping unrecognized. As a would-be filmmaker, Junpei imagines this encounter as a perfect movie scene. So he searches for this girl with only 1 clue - strawberry panties.

2007 released the 4-volume manga Hatsukoi Limited. It's Kawashita's 2nd work underlyng a 12-episode anime series in 2009. Since adapted after completing the manga, its action covers all the 4 volumes. Its characters, as in the previous work, are schoolers. Adolescent girl life is full of troubles. Mid-schooler Arihara Ayumi gets a message from a bull-type high-schooler, Zaitsu Misao, to go out with him. She hesitates between fear and curiosity.

2009 launched the 3-volume manga Ane Doki whose hero, Kouta, is a common schooler living with his extravagant workaholic father, dreaming of his class idol and playing with his friend. Until 1 day... when his father has to move to Sapporo, turning into a lovely girl offering Kouta her care. And her ways are so mysterious: her sex appeal, interest in Kouta, and her need to share the same room...

Mizuki Kawashita's latest manga has been (G) Edition (since 2010) in few chapters so far. It features young Kaburagi Aruto wishing to be a shoujo mangaka. She unfortunately discovers she's to become a famous hentai manga artist instead. The premonition comes from her time-traveling robot, G-Maru, also worshipping her talent.

Let's hope the manga will be as interesting and breathtaking as her previous works. It may also base an anime series as some of her past mangas have done.
