If one were to ask the question "who actually wears western wear," the answer would be far more complex now, than if you had asked the question in the late 1860s- or even the early 1900s. The reason is this: Once western wear ceased to be something worn in only certain areas, as a result of the jobs that existed there, it spread and became a part of the cultural and fashion canon (think literary canon not military cannons). The reason that western wear escaped it's confines on the range and made it's way out into the rest of the nation has a great deal to do with the movie industry. Making western films and western televisions shows did a lot to gain mainstream exposure for the style of dress- and what's more, they made it more than just a way to dress. Western apparel, from cowboy boots to hats, are a part of the nation's history and they are reminiscent of a time in history. There is a certain attitude that seemed to come with western apparel, as a result of our perceived notions of what the wild west was like. Having been making western films for decades upon decades now, there have also been many opportunities for people to see their favorite movie stars and celebrities decked out in western apparel, which we all know has an effect on the popularity of a fashion choice.

The high fashion industry is no stranger to that effect itself, especially considering the look of "sundance chic" that brought western wear into the mainstream via well-known designers. While the trickle-down effect from runway to ready-to-wear apparels reduces the extremity of all looks. Western wear has pretty classic lines that are hard to miss. Fashion has a way of cycling looks through, and western wear has joined that cycle as a part of the well from which fashion designers can draw from. So, back to that very first question- who is wearing western wear? Let's start with the most obvious answer. There are those who live in the American west for whom this style of dress is simply part of their culture, including those who wear items like cowboy boots as a part of their job. Some might wear western wear as part of a costume, such as country singers and performers. Others still simply like the way that cowboy boots look and wear them for purely aesthetic reasons. Likewise, you'll find that plenty of people who own cowboy boots are into them for the comfort and the way they feel while wearing them.
Author Resource:- There is no one type of person that wears western apparel and cowboy boots. Western wear has been continuously created and sold since its development. You can find fashionable and functional cowboy boots, The Boot Store has quality western boots of all kinds. And the variety of aesthetic cowboy boots choices, there really is a pair of cowboy boots for every personality and wardrobe. One thing is certain, you can't put everyone that chooses western apparel and cowboy boots into the same stereotypical box.
