Insuring a pet that is very likely to die from conditions such as cancer, allergies or hyperthyroidism would not be a wise investment on the part of the insurer. However, you will be able to obtain coverage for your pet's pre-existing condition, if a more severe disease has developed during the time you were insured. In order to do so, you will need the medical examination of a veterinarian, testifying that the animal was only suffering from a mild condition that has since evolved and become more serious over time.
Insuring pets that suffer from pre-existing conditions is a very complicated process that can be avoided easily. When you purchase a pet, make sure it had a complete check up and does not have any disease. Purchase insurance during the first few days after you become a pet owner in order to avoid all the legal hassle and save a lot of money on expensive treatments.
