If you were to go to a rodeo you might notice that the design of the shirts being worn by riders is the same as those being worn by audience members- and that this very design is being exaggerated by performer's attire. The design of western apparel is one that is as much about function (see: the rider) as it is about fashion (See: the performer). Of course, western apparel hasn't evolved in a vacuum. As isolated as it was when the American west was first being settled, times have changed, and it is just as connected as the rest of rural America, with many large urban cities not far from rural farms. In fact, Hollywood has changed the way that most people view western wear, thanks to the cyclical popularity of the western genre of movies. Movie stars are often seen rocking western wear items, and often just because they like the style, they don't have any other connection with the culture itself. Excluding of course country music and it's related events. But, forget movie stars and even country music stars, since they are mainly only displaying the high end fashion side of western apparel. If you want to see the range of the authentic western wear that's out there, look no further than the rodeo.
From the performers in their exaggerated outfits and costumes, to the riders in their sturdy and protective cowboy boots and clothing, then to the audience in a full range of western apparel, you will see a lot of what the western style has to offer- and hopefully you'll discover your own personal western flair and preferences. Perhaps the only thing missing is western wedding wear (which is available, just not normally seen at a rodeo). You'll certainly see a wide range of cowboy boots present, from rough, well-worn working boots almost always made of cowhide to sleek and stylish western boots made with exotic leathers that require regular care, all the way to kids' boots in bright colors and adorably tiny sizes. The most common characteristics of cowboy boots that many people are looking for tend to be a tall shaft, stacked heel and the pointed toe. What makes a pair of boots unique might be the stitching patterns, the color of the dyed leather or the decorative inlays, for example. There is an almost unlimited variety of cowboy boots to choose, and if you can't find the design you have in mind, you can always opt for a custom made pair of cowboy boots- which would be great to show off at a rodeo.
There are a few other design types of western wear boots other than the classic style. These other styles have come about in the same way that the original cowboy boots did- they were modified to meet the needs of riders- roper boots are a good example. Roping is both an event at rodeos and an activity that commonly takes place on ranches. In order to rope a calf, a sheep, a steer, or any other four legged animal it is necessary that the rider be able to quickly dismount and then run over to the animal it has roped. Hitting the ground running in cowboy boots is possible, but nowhere near as effective or comfortable as doing so in roper boots which have a lower arch, less of a heel and a rounded toe. These features make roper boots the western boots best suited for the job. Even though cowboy boots started out for function, they are easily crossed over into fashion and remain a classic fashion choice for anyone's wardrobe even if you don't pair them with an entire western ensemble.

If you are interested in trying some western wear in your wardrobe, the best place to try it out, or see what is out there is not at a store- but a rodeo. If you don't already have a pair of cowboy boots, The Boot Store has great cowboy boots and western apparel to get you ready for your first rodeo- and you'll probably have some more western wear ideas when you get home from the rodeo as well. Western apparel was designed and continues to be used for function- but has become a fashion all it's own, with very little changes to the basic western pieces.hostgator promo code
