I keep in mind the old days when the Simpsons was the King of TV. Back when it initial came out, the Simpsons was one in all the foremost ground breaking shows on TV. Now it's become corny and cheesy. I remember once I emulated Bart Simpson as a free spirit but currently he has become a spoiled brat with not much intelligence. The road between the personalities has solidified. Lisa is that the sensible one, Marge the dependable one, Homer the buffoon and Bart the troublemaker.
Back in the day, Bart was a true character. He was a naughty kid who each little boy might determine with. As the primary audience of the show when it first began - preteens and youths, grew up and commenced families of their own, the theme of the show modified as well. The show slowly started that specialize in Homer's silly antics.
Now, the Simpsons is additional regarding the wedding of Homer and Marge. Almost every episode these days centers on how Homer is an idiot husband who does a heap of things wrong and Marge is that the patient wife who has the place up with it. But if you look at some other shows that are brought to you by the creators of the Simpsons like Futurama, you'll notice an identical theme. Bender the Robot plays the crass comic character in Futurama whereas Fry and Leela have their silly romance.
Bender, the robot character provides the crass comic relief while the the element of romance is put forth by Fry and Leela and it is done therefore once more with a whole heaping of corn and cheese. Futuama though is still a so much superior show to the Simpsons solely because of its numerous characters. Cable TV brought us the Simpsons and when it initial came out, it was a path breaking show.
Now it has been relegated to the other female centric wasteland of shows that sometimes air on the WB network amongst others. It will be only a matter of your time that it starts showing only on TV land. The longest running show on TV is in peril of changing into stale and obsolete.
TV is certainly not what it was once and I feel that Simpsons is simply about floundering right now. It has its loyal fans, that's true however I do not see it getting new fans. I don't see young youngsters watching Simpsons anymore. Most of them go towards different animated series like Family Guy and South Park as a result of these are more intelligent, edgy and humorous.
